Super Lemon Haze: The Complete Home Grower's Guide
Welcome to our educational cultivation hub. Our objective is to provide the community with the knowledge, tools, and techniques required for premium home cultivation. This guide covers the complete cultivation process for a legendary Sativa-dominant hybrid: Super Lemon Haze (Lemon Skunk x Super Silver Haze).
Strain Overview
Super Lemon Haze is an incredibly popular, high-yielding Sativa-dominant hybrid (approx. 70-80% Sativa / 20-30% Indica) known for its energetic "Haze" punch. It boasts a potent THC profile testing between 19% and 25%, with minimal CBD (< 1%). Renowned for its zesty citrus, sweet lemon candy, and earthy Haze aroma, its primary terpenes include Terpinolene, Beta-Caryophyllene, Limonene, and Myrcene. This photoperiod strain is a vigorous, branchy grower that can reach tall heights of 4–6.5 ft indoors and 6–8+ ft outdoors. When dialed in correctly, indoor yields can reach an impressive 600g to 800g/m², while outdoor plants can yield 800g to 1200g per plant.
Phase 1: The Seedling Phase (Duration: 2 to 3 Weeks)
The critical first phase focuses on establishing a robust root system and early foliage.
- Lighting: Maintain an 18/6 or 20/4 light schedule.
- Environment: Target temperatures should remain between 70°F and 80°F (21°C – 27°C), with a relative humidity of 50% to 70% to support early leaf development.
- Nutrients & pH: Maintain a pH balance between 6.0 and 6.8 for soil mediums, or 5.5 and 6.0 for hydroponics.
Phase 2: The Vegetative Phase (Duration: 4 to 5 Weeks)
As the plant develops its canopy to maximize photosynthesis, its environmental requirements will shift.
- Environment: Keep ambient temperatures at 68°F–78°F (20°C – 25°C) and reduce relative humidity to 40%–50%.
- Canopy Management: Super Lemon Haze is highly recommended for Low-Stress Training (LST), Topping, and the Screen of Green (ScrOG) method.
- Nutritional Needs: This cultivar is a heavy feeder, with a particularly high demand for Nitrogen during the vegetative stage.
Phase 3: The Flowering Phase (Duration: 10 to 11 Weeks)
To induce the flowering stage, transition your lighting cycle to an equal 12 hours on and 12 hours off (12/12 schedule).
- Environment: Maintain daytime temperatures between 65°F and 75°F (18°C – 24°C). It is imperative to drop humidity levels to 35%–40% during this final phase to prevent bud rot in the dense colas.
- Nutritional Needs: Shift to a high Phosphorus and Potassium (P-K) feed during late flower.
- Cultivation Alert (The "Stretch"): Be prepared for a massive vertical jump once you flip to 12/12; this strain can triple in size during flower. If growing indoors with limited head height, flip to flower earlier than usual (around 12 inches) or use a ScrOG to manage the canopy.
- Cultivation Alert (Support): The side branches are long and can become top-heavy with resinous buds. Use bamboo stakes or trellis netting early to prevent branches from snapping.
- Cultivation Alert (Odor Control): This is a "loud" strain. The citrus-skunk aroma is extremely pungent; ensure your carbon filters are fresh before week 4 of flower.
- Harvest Timing: Don't rush it. While some phenotypes finish in 9 weeks, waiting until week 10 or 11 allows the trichomes to reach full amber/cloudy maturity for that classic Haze punch.
